Day 2 in Maine started out foggy, but the fog quickly burned off and it became a beautiful sunny day. I am typically choosy about when I go out to take photos-choosing overcast days and/or times early in the morning or late in the day for soft, even lighting. When photographing moments during a family vacation though, I couldn't be as choosy with lighting. Shooting during full sun overhead was definitely a challenge and an area where I'll need to continue practicing! It was a good reminder that capturing moments is more important than capturing a technically perfect photograph.
We started the morning with a hike up Gorham Mountain in Acadia National Park. My nephews had a blast scrambling over the rocks all the way up. The afternoon was spent kayaking and exploring beaches and tide pools.
